Orientation Training for the Novice Worker
Our Novice Training Course was created to help the unemployed and unskilled worker enter the workforce. There is a significant requirement for domestic workers and low-level office staff across the NCR and our courses help fill this need by teaching new entrants job accountability, ethics, work organisation, the importance of punctuality, personal hygiene, basic etiquette, communication skills and personal security. All workers that come to us without verifiable references are required to attend this 2 day, 12 hour course. Once trained, the workers are placed through our staff placement programme. Across all verticals, DOMESTEQ’s main mission has always been to provide workers that are skilled, verifiable and documented in a way that encourages accountability from the workers at the same time as ensuring they have dignity of labour and fair working practices in the workplace.

Basic Housekeeping Skills
Designed for those domestic staff workers who multi-task in the home. This course will provide them with essential organisational methods that will enable the domestic worker to make the best use of their time in the home. Taught in a highly interactive manner, students will learn how to use local cleaning products effectively, how to keep their employers home free from dust and pests, how to create a safe home environment for adults and children as well as some basic emergency procedures. Laundry basics are also taught and we provide informative handouts and teaching tools to ensure efficiency and effective use of modern machines

Basic Childcare Skills
Our Childcare Basics course will teach staff caring for children over 2 years old how to keep your child safely and gainfully occupied. In this course, students will learn how to create a safe environment whether at home or outside and learn fun ways to keep their young charges amused

Indian Cooking for Families
Domesteq’s Indian Home Cooking course introduces the fine art of preparing delicious north Indian dishes so that they can be easily re-created at home. Participants are taught simple and authentic cooking methods that are used traditionally in Indian homes and learn about the spices and flavours of North Indian cuisine. This course takes you on a journey across the region and teaches the building blocks to the family style Indian meal. Recipes include various vegetarian and non-vegetarian main courses, breads, side dishes and desserts

Health & Hygiene in the Home
Raising awareness of the importance of hygiene and how it affects the family’s health is the objective of this course. Literacy is not assumed and the course is essential for novice domestic workers and can be useful for even those more experienced staff members.

First Aid for Domestic Workers
Taught in conjunction with the doctors from East West Rescue, this course is specially designed for domestic workers and is essential for those taking care of infants, small children and the elderly.

Resident & Estate Management Training
This tailor made course has been taught in many diplomatic missions and provides useful organisational tips for the person running a large household or mission. Leadership skills, party planning and communication skills are taught side by side with essential household management tips and techniques, menu-planning and HR skills.

Eldercare Training
A comprehensive course designed to train and sensitise those domestic workers who have special charge of the elderly family members. There is a strong emphasis on hygiene, gentle exercise and dietary restriction. Throughout the course workers are taught how to manage the family members in a safe fashion while being sure to treat them with sensitivity and dignity at all times

Basic Continental Cooking for Families
Domesteq’s Continental Cooking Course for Families gives cooks and other household staff a basic understanding of western cooking. This course contains information on kitchen hygiene, safe food preparation and storage and will cover basic cooking methods. Students will learn simple recipes using local ingredients and understand how to use these recipes to create a variety of dishes. Recipes will include soups, basic sauces, vegetable, fish, chicken and pasta dishes as well as simple family-style desserts

Office Support Staff Training

New concepts including menu planning, variations and presentation are covered in during this highly interactive, hands-on course. Units on Thai, Italian and Chinese cuisine adapted to local products and produce are included as well as a unit on pies and cakes.

Continental Baking Short Courses

With this course your household cooks will learn several traditional recipes for cakes, cookies and pies in addition to many more variations.
