Domesteq Curricula
Our training curricula are multi-intelligence based and we use an
experiential teaching method complete with relevant visuals and
practical applications. Each curriculum is entirely original and has
been conceived and created in-house with the expertise of former
domestic workers and in consultation with education professionals.
All Domesteq’s courses emphasize the importance of the role each
worker plays in the home or the organisation and interwoven in each
and every training session is guidance on doing their jobs with
pride and dignity. Courses are taught in Hindi with a combination of
role-playing and demonstration and students are encouraged to
participate actively throughout the course. Literacy is not assumed
and class sizes are kept small with a high teacher/student ratio.
Domesteq Trainers
The majority of Domesteq’s trainers come from the domestic sector
themselves. Literate and with extensive work experience they teach
individuals from their own community most effectively and serve as
mentors and examples to the students. Our trainers model good
discipline and throughout each session focus not only on skills but
also on the development and maintenance of a strong work ethic.
Teacher trainee notes are made available to each trainer but they
are encouraged to choose the method of communication and teaching
that best works for the group they are teaching.
