How long is each training course?
As each module is tailor made, we can design the length of each
course to match your specific requirement. We recommend each
module lasts approximately 4 hours and our consultants will be
happy to advise you what topics can fit into each session.
Does my domestic worker need to be able to speak
English or read and write?
Literacy is never assumed when training with Domesteq.
Courses are taught in Hindi and the ability to speak English is
not required. Reading and writing in either language is not a
requirement – Domesteq has created original curriculum and
teaching methods specially designed for the semi-literate and
illiterate worker.
Do you require cooks to be able to read recipes?
No, we teach cooking with a hands-on approach and we
have found that many domestic cooks have incredible memories and
have developed their own ways of remembering the instructions
for new dishes.
Do you provide the supporting documentation in Hindi?
All templates, instructions and recipes are provided to
the client in English. As the majority of our course
participants are illiterate or semi-literate, and many of them
speak and read languages other than Hindi, the documents are
created in English for the employer. These documents are not
designed for the domestic worker but rather provided as guidance
to you, our clients, to help them understand what each course
contained. We encourage our clients to use these documents to
refresh the memory of the worker and/or to train new workers
coming into their home or organisation.
How is quality maintained after training is complete?
For our corporate clients we offer a monthly quality
assessment programme where our trainers spends a few hours
monthly at the location to ensure that the workers continue to
operate efficiently and effectively. During this monthly
session, trainers are also able to review topics and answer any
questions the worker may have. A report is given to the client
which flags any areas of concern.
For our private clients we encourage the identification of
one staff member as a supervisor and provide quality control
templates for their use on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
